LINDSAY WILSON

For over the last 35 years Lindsay has gained her extensive Dance training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary/Modern, Stage/Singing and Hip Hop. She is certified by the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) and the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) in both Tap and Jazz. For 13 years, Lindsay taught in numerous dance studios throughout the Lower Mainland. She was the “Dance Choreographer” for West Coast Contortion for 11 years and she attended many Dance Workshops in the Lower Mainland as well as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Japan and Toronto, just to name a few. Lindsay has danced professionally with the Vancouver Grizzlies Extreme Dance Team and Fusion Dance Company at annual events such as Cirque Pop and Fire In the Night at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver and in several other events such as the The Apec Conference, Dragon Boat Festival, Skills Canada, Colin James and Michael Buble and others. In 2009, Lindsay performed as part of the entertainment for the Vancouver Winter Olympic Bid for the Winter Games of 2010. During 1999 and 2002, Lindsay worked for Princess Cruise Lines as Cruise Staff Personnel as well as a professional dancer on the Royal Princes for the World Tour. From there, she continued to work on the Sea Princess for their Mexican Riviera cruise tours. Her cruise ship experience allowed her to travel and dance in many parts of the World. Lindsay opened her own dance studio in 2010 in Port Coquitlam BC and continues to share her love and passion in dance with her students and strives to bring out their confidence and strength not only in dancers, but as young individuals. As a Choreographer and Dance instructor Lindsay brings with her unique styles in dance an abundance of energy, enthusiasm and charisma.

ALDEANA BAWTINHEIMER

Aldeana operated her own studio, ALDEANAS ACROBATS, for nearly 30 years in the Surrey area. She now offers her services to local studios, who are interested in expanding their Acrobat programs. Aldeana was trained at a young age in the specialized arts of Acrobats and Adagio. Aldeana enjoyed competition success at an early age, and has brought that successful attitude to her students. Her students have excelled at all levels of competition in Acrobats, Adagio and Fitness. Her Surrey troop, of 20 Acrobats, earned a reputation of having a fierce, highly competitive team spirit. Her talented students and unique choreography have combined for many routines that have successfully competed in both local and international competitions, receiving many Honour Awards. Aldeana's students have gone on to a professional level, performing in many corporate events. Her students have also been afforded opportunities to participate in Vegas workshops with Cirque Du Soleil performers. Aldeana now looks forward to continued challenges and successes with student’s throughout the Lower Mainland.

EMILY HENNEY

Emily Henney is a triple threat performer originally from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. She grew up as a studio dancer training in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre. Lindsay Wilson was actually one of her Hip Hop and Jazz instructors at Stage One Dance Centre!
Emily became a dance instructor as soon as she turned 15, and when she graduated highschool, it was off to theatre school! She trained at Douglas College, Seacoast Theatre Centre and, eventually, the world-renowned Studio 58 at Langara College.
Since graduating from Studio 58 in 2012, Emily has been working professionally as an actor, singer, dancer and choreographer. Select choreography credits include: Spongebob the Musical (2022), Matilda the Musical (2019), The Little Mermaid (2018). Select acting credits include: Mamma Mia!, Cornwalls’ All-Inclusive Cancun Christmas, Footloose (Chemainus Theatre Festival), Legally Blonde (TUTS). Select film/tv credits include: The Twilight Zone – CBS All Access, The Magicians – SyFy, Untold Stories of the ER – TLC. You can also look for Emily’s likeness in her very first performance capture in a highly anticipated video game coming out in this year!
Emily is thrilled and grateful to be joining the team at Coastal Edge. She absolutely loves sharing her passion for dance and theatre with the future generation of performers.

ARANXA BONILLA

Aranxa Bonilla is from Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. She started dancing at the age of 3 in classical ballet under the Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing. Graduating with honours at age 18. She also took Cuban technique by the first Cuban dancer Joaquin Banegas and point technique with the prima ballerina Silvia Marichal (RIP) in Xalapa Veracruz. Arnaxa has travelled to different cities and countries with renowned dancers and teachers, taking courses and seminars like classical ballet, pointe technique, pas de deux, character dances, theatrical makeup, theatrical lighting and sound, musical comedy, jazz, among others. I have a degree in Dance Teaching with a specialty in Classical Ballet by Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza de Monterrey, in the city of Monterrey Nuevo Leon. Graduated with honours. Recently I was part of Coastal City Ballet company in Vancouver as a dancer

MYAH MCCARTHY

Myah McCarthy is a Contemporary dance artist living, working, and playing on the traditional ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples—Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam First Nations. Myah first started her competitive training as an aspiring Olympic gymnast, shortly after a severe injury she found an even stronger passion for the dance language. Myah began her pre-professional dance training in a half day program at the Dance LAB Studios in Coquitlam, British Columbia. It was here that she discovered a great amorosity for contemporary dance. After graduating from her studio training, she further developed her skills with Lamondance in North Vancouver where she danced in two principal roles during her year with the company. The next year, Myah was given the opportunity to dance with Jaci Royal and her company Royal Flux under their apprenticeship program in Los Angeles, California. After a year in California, Myah decided to move back to Vancouver in hopes of gaining her bachelor’s degree in Fine arts with Simon Fraser University. It is here that she is creating her most recent work that discusses topics of survival and unity. With her on going education she hopes to create a sound connection to the industry in her hometown and bring her new experiences to the Vancouver area.

OLIVIA AMOS

Ms. Olivia started dancing when she was 7 years old and has been a part of our Coastal Edge Dance family since 2012. Olivia has trained in Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, Stage, and Ballet. Ms. Olivia has received numerous special awards and recognitions in dance competitions throughout the years. She has also trained outside of her home studio at several conventions throughout British Columbia. Olivia has also trained with a variety of teachers from around the world. She brings with her a special gift not only as a leader to Coastal Edge, but a unique and captivating style that is incomparable to say the least. Ms. Olivia is going to Capilano University to study general science as well as pursuing her love for dance and teaching. Ms. Olivia has assisted Lindsay Wilson (Director of Coastal Edge) for several years now. We are so excited to have Ms. Olivia work with your children and share her gift with all of the students at Coastal
Edge!

JHAYMEE "ELOQUENCE" HIZON

Jhaymee “Eloquence” Hizon is known and respected throughout the Lower Mainland as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and as one of the members of the infamous Now or Never Crew. Jhaymee and his crew are one of the top bboy crews in Canada and becoming highly regarded worldwide. His style is a fusion of the traditional way of bboying and his own original movements. With the, “it’s not what you do, it’s how you do it mentality”, he ads style into every movement. Jhaymee has been teaching dance for over twenty years. Some of his accomplishments include Massive Monkees Day (Champions), Battle of the year International (Germany), IBE (2011 Europe World Battle), and Closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics at BC Place. His goal is to promote the positive side of hip-hop, while preserving this
powerful art form and its strong cultural presence. Jhaymee is also certified as an Adjudicator through WDSF/CDS which enables him to judge Olympic Breaking events.
